Edmonton Family Photography

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of exploring my old neighbourhood again with some family friends. I've had support from them since I started school at NAIT four years ago, and it's great to see how much everyone has grown!

These two were so great to photograph since they showed me their favourite spots to play in, and I just took the pictures. Edmonton is great in that as a photographer, you can find an interesting place for a picture if you just walk five minutes in any direction. Once you have friends with you, a great shot is bound to come out.

This photo is one of my favourites from the session, and it was so nice to see the kids just doing what they love to do.

With family friends growing up around me, it's crazy to see time pass so quickly. It was four years ago that I first took their pictures, and it feels like the kids have really changed and become more awesome, capable people (especially since one was a baby in the first photoshoot!). Photography allows for nostalgia that few mediums can provide. It's amazing to see people so filled with joy when they take a look through their old family pictures and start to reminisce with each-other about how life used to be.

I love photography, and the opportunities that it lends me. After years of shooting families, products, and commercials, I still get excited to take new and better photographs every day.
